Today our thoughts are with all the victims of Hurricane Sandy and the first responders bravely working night and day to help them.

We Californians know all too well what it means to be struck by a natural disaster - and we know how grateful we have been when our fellow Americans have come to our aid after earthquakes, fires, and floods.
