Chairwoman Granger of the State and Foreign Operations subcommittee held a hearing for Secretary of State Hillary Clinton to testify about the FY13 State Department budget. This was the first SFOPs subcommittee hearing for the 2013 budget cycle. Chairwoman Granger spoke about the situation in Afghanistan, the pursuit of Iran for nuclear weapons, the turmoil in Egypt, the Israeli and Palestinian negotiations, and the intensifying situation in Syria.
