  1. Great to join the New Port Richey Rotary Club to honor our veterans. May we celebrate and remember all those who have served, are serving or will serve this country.

  4. This week, Hurricane Sandy made landfall, impacting residents all along the East Coast. Today’s jobs report indicates unemployment at 7.9 percent, which is due to more Americans giving up on their search for full-time work. Instead, they are finding part-time jobs that pay less and have an uncertain future. We need economic policies that incentivize business to hire more Americans and get this country back to work.
  7. Great meeting with Two Men and a Truck, a local small business employing 80 people in the Tampa Bay area, yesterday to discuss ways we can eliminate barriers to economic success.

  8. As Sandy approaches the East Coast, please use caution. Use the Red Cross website, mobile app or 1-800-RED-CROSS for up-to-the-minute information and to request assistance. Those wishing to contribute to relief efforts can also do so at http://www.redcross.org/charitable-donations.
