NUNNELEE STATEMENT ON THE OBAMA BUDGET

NUNNELEE STATEMENT ON THE OBAMA BUDGET

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Earlier today, President Obama released his 2013 fiscal year budget request. Rather than offering a serious, responsible budget, the President chose to call for record levels of spending, debt and tax hikes. In response, Congressman Nunnelee issued the following statement:

“The President’s budget calling for a fourth consecutive year of trillion dollar deficits is simply unacceptable. It is nothing but more spending, higher taxes, and a failure to address our nation’s unsustainable debt. He is in full campaign mode and knows that he cannot run on his record so has decided that the tired politics of class warfare, envy and resentment hold the key to his reelection.  Republicans are not going to follow his example; we have and will continue to put forward serious proposals that get our spending problem under control.”

Congressman Alan Nunnelee represents Mississippi’s First Congressional District and serves on the House Appropriations Committee.  This is his first term.
