12/20/10 - In this week's Monday Morning Memo, Congressman Kevin Brady, who is thankful that the tax bomb will not be going off on January 1st, talks about the bills pros and cons and why he launched a fight in the Rules Committee to offset the bill's spending. Brady, who leads the Death Tax Coalition, also discusses the ongoing fight to end the death tax permanently.

12/13/10 - In this week's Monday Morning Memo, Congressman Kevin Brady makes it clear that his top priority is to stop any American from facing a tax hike on January 1st, including small businesses and family farms that could face a 55% death tax if Congress doesn't act. The Congressman also stressed that more cuts in government spending and reforming unemployment insurance will be top priorities when the Republicans take control of the House of Representatives in January. One of the reasons is out of control government spending which has increased by 9% this year. A new review from the Joint Economic Committee minority staff shows Congress spent $1.91 for every new $1 in taxes in the 7 major initiatives that President Obama signed into law. Congressman Brady has joined other Republicans in asking the Speaker to ban earmarks from any spending bills passed in the Lame Duck session.
The Congressman also shares his concerns about a new Oil Spill Commission Report that claims the administration muzzled government scientists, the protests at a local hero's funeral and stimulus checks for the dead and incarcerated.
