ROUND ROCK RESIDENT HONORED WITH FULBRIGHT GRANT
02/11/08Washington, Feb 11, 2008 -
US Congressman John. Carter (TX-31) today announced that Brian Korgel of Round Rock has been awarded a Fulbright grant award to study, lecture, teach or conduct research abroad during the 2007-2008 academic year.
“I am proud to represent students like Brian here in the 31st District, and I congratulate him on this great achievement,” Congressman Carter said. “The Fulbright Program gives great opportunities for our students to experience the different cultures of the world.”
The Fulbright Program is sponsored by the U.S. Department of State, Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Established by Congress in 1946, the Program’s purpose is to build mutual understanding between the people of the United States and the rest of the world. Fulbright recipients are selected on the basis of academic or professional achievement, as well as demonstrated leadership potential.
