Rep Walberg Announces Winner Of 2012 Congressional Art Competition

Washington, D.C. - Today Rep Tim Walberg announced that Kaitlyn Slack, an 11th grader at Grand Ledge High School is the winner of this year’s Congressional Art Competition for the 7th district.

Kaitlyn’s piece, entitled “A Silent Hope” will be part of a yearlong display in the Cannon Tunnel to the U.S. Capitol with other winning pieces from high school students around the country.

 

“I congratulate our 2012 Congressional Art Competition winner, Kaitlyn Slack, for her hard work and creativity as well as all the contestants who submitted artwork.  It is always an honor to see students recognized for their talent. I look forward to seeing Kaitlyn’s work displayed for both visitors and Members of Congress to admire,” commented Congressman Tim Walberg.

The Congressional Art Competition began in 1982. Each year all high school students in the 7th district are encouraged to submit their artwork.
