JONES HUMBLED TO PLAY KEY ROLE IN EXPANSION OF GREENVILLE VA CLINIC

Jan 13, 2012 Issues: Veterans

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Today Congressman Walter B. Jones (NC-3) spoke at the groundbreaking at the site of the future expanded Greenville VA Clinic.  The expanded clinic will increase specialty care access to area veterans within a new 116,000 square foot clinic.  Currently, area veterans must travel to the Durham VA clinic for most treatment.  Congressman Jones has made the expanded VA clinic in Greenville a high priority and has worked tirelessly on the issue for many years.

“This is a special day for the veterans of Eastern North Carolina who have earned the care and attention that this facility will provide,” said Jones.  “I am grateful for the many people who have worked to make this clinic a reality, but more importantly, I am grateful for our men and women in uniform.  It is time we repay those who gave so much for our country.”

In addition to those services already provided, the new clinic will offer specialty services including, but not limited to, audiology, cardiology, orthopedics, pharmacy, eye, dental, radiology, and minor procedures such as endoscopy.  It is expected to open in late 2013 and provide employment to approximately 300 staff.
