Forbes has named Winston-Salem as the 18th best place in the United States for Business and Careers for 2009, ahead of areas such as Charlotte, Atlanta, Dallas, Orlando, and Washington, DC. Out of 200 areas surveyed, Winston-Salem ranked in the top third in its cost of doing business, income growth, job growth, projected job growth, and net migration.
