READ OUT OF CHC MEETING WITH SEN. MARCO RUBIO

Washington D.C.:  Yesterday, CHC Chairman Charles A. Gonzalez (TX 20), Senator Robert Menendez (D-NJ) and CHC Immigration task force chair Rep. Luis Gutierrez (IL-4) met with Senator Marco Rubio (R-FL) to discuss immigration reform. The following a read out after their meeting:

“The Congressional Hispanic Caucus is always open to commence meaningful dialogue about immigration reform. After hearing Senator Marco Rubio's positive remarks at the Hispanic Leadership Network in January, I invited him to speak with the CHC and start a conversation so that we could better understand his position.

“Until we know the details of his proposal, the CHC will not comment on specific provisions. We look forward to learning more about his plan and remain committed to working with any member who aims to enact meaningful reform.”
