Petri Votes to Keep Government Running and Cut Spending

Apr 15, 2011

On April 14, Rep. Petri joined with a majority in the House of Representatives in voting for a budget-cutting resolution to fund the remainder of the 2011 budget year.  Petri explained:

"I voted for the budget deal, as did six out of eight members of the Wisconsin delegation in the House, making it a bipartisan vote.  I'm glad we averted a government shutdown and cut spending at the same time.  But now we have to move onto bigger and more difficult issues in order to put spending back on the right track."
