Great metaphor showing the risk tolerance of the team at Google X.  Congratulations to them all on the spectacular show yesterday.
At Google I/O 2012, the Project Glass team took product demoing to a new level. We worked with some of the world's top athletes, combined skydiving and mountain biking, and shared the experience -- through their eyes -- with the world.

I have been following this and similar technologies for years, and for me it is - "must have" for the next 1-2 years - for real mobile experience, but when I talk with people during meetings all over my country - even with IT people - they have no idea of existence of Pixel qi screens.

I am not sure If You are aware of "Cloudlet" project from Microsoft Research - but - in my opinion - in line with Windows 8 tablet /desktop OS - the PIxel qi screens may be a real break through solution for mobile -content rich - experience.

My moonshot idea for Google "Solve For X" - a 10 minute video below - thanks to Google for creating this forum - I feel transformed by the process and driven to do more.
Solve for X is a forum to encourage and amplify technology-based moonshot thinking and teamwork. What if it were possible to literally take pictures of the mind's eye? There is no doubt that if such an ability existed it would completely transform everything from how we communicate across language barriers, save our memories, replay our dreams, how we communicate with ourselves (psychology), how we communicate with computers (HCI), and on and on the list goes. The evidence is now on the horizon that taking these pictures is in fact possible and could be made within the decade. Mary Lou Jepsen is an imaging and display expert. Mary Lou is also a high tech artist and co-created the first computed holographic video system in the world at the MIT Media Lab.
