Duncan Issues Statement on Unemployment Rate

Laurens, SC-  South Carolina Congressman Jeff Duncan issued the following statement on the release of the August jobs report:

“After 368,000 people gave up on the Obama economy and left the workforce, the “official” unemployment rate fell to a meager 8.1%.  This is the 43rd month in a row that unemployment has remained above 8%, and that is unacceptable.  We’ve got to create an environment that makes it easier for small businesses to create jobs.  This means lower taxes and less regulation, neither of which the Obama Administration has accomplished.  President Obama’s policies have failed.  We need new policies implemented that will encourage job creation and allow for our economy to boom once again.”
