Boustany to Host 4th Annual Farm Day Forum to Discuss Changes for Rural Communities

Washington, D.C.  – U.S. Representative Charles W. Boustany, Jr., R-Southwest Louisiana, will host the 4th annual Farm Day Forum.  This year’s forum will be held on Monday, February 8 from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. CST at the Welsh Community Center.  In addition to agricultural concerns, Boustany will discuss potential impacts of the massive health care reform overhauls on farming and ranching communities across Louisiana.

Boustany advocates targeted health care reforms to bring down health care costs including the ability to purchase insurance across state lines, allowing businesses to pool together to increase purchasing power and utilize the same tax breaks large businesses and labor unions currently receive, creating incentives for preventive care and passing responsible medical liability reforms.

The forum is open to the public, and anyone interested in attending is asked to RSVP to Michael.Hare@mail.house.gov or by calling the Lafayette District Office at (337) 235-6322.
