First Lt. Daniel Porris, spur candidate, 1st Squadron, 10th Cavalry Regiment, 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 4th Infantry Division, receives his silver spurs from Sgt. 1st Class Ramon Contreras, spur holder, Troop B, 1st Sqdn., 10th Cav. Reg., during the spur ride ceremony, Nov. 2, 2012. In order to earn their silver spurs, Soldiers were pushed to their physical and mental limitations by being tested their ability to operate as part of a team under high levels of stress and fatigue under both day and night conditions.
