Been sampling some Nova Scotia Apple Ciders lately. A few outfits here in #novascotia  are launching 6% ciders which are interesting so far (less sweet). They remind me of an Acadie or Séval Blanc wine.

The wine that I am currently drinking is Wrongo Dongo from Spain. It's a monastrell and It's a perfect wine for sitting around on a patio for a sip.

Wow Amanda, I am utterly impressed.  I cannot believe how well you navigate G+.... I still feel the new girl who has just moved to a new school half-way through the year, shouting "be my friend!" and you have managed to find a group of people who all share an interest in wine.  Sadly, tea-total as I am it is of no use to me, but I would consider starting to drink in a bid to get on with G+ more if necessary!

For cheap wine Barefoot isn't half bad. They have plenty of "flavors" to choose from. You can get it super cheap sometimes as low as $4.99/bottle here.

The wife and I have been back on the Relax Riesling kick again. Really solid wine for the price. Can't beat the name, I mean after all when we sit down for dinner after a long day, all we are looking to do is Relax. http://relaxwines.com/#riesling.php

I always like to fall back on a Crios Malbec Rosé (from Mendoza) when it's nice out - $13-$15 is a nice drinkable wine perfect for sitting outside and chatting all night.

Most Italian wines are good, too. A little more costly, however.

Under $20? Believe it or not, my wife and I usually turn to Blackstone's Merlot, especially the 2009. It's like $11 and makes a good table wine.

My favorite go-to wine is Cakebread's Savignon Blanc.

+Amanda Blain Thanks very much.  I was hit by a car while on my bike in June and still on the Oxycontin.  Wine taste terrible and not really a good combo anyway.  But, Cheers too everyone else.  I'll be back in wine mode soon!

Hmm I'm off to choose paint color for our new wine cellar as I write this.  For our everyday drinking or big parties I love the Grocery Outlet chain routinely who has most wines under $20-French & often older vintages 2007 & beyond.  I've found $200 bottles there that were at the most $25!  +Thomas Hawk & I are strictly hearty reds & chardonnay drinkers & rarely spend more than $5 a bottle there. Be prepare to compete with the Narsi David caterers who buy up the good stuff within the week.  10% of additional when you buy 2 or more cases. 20% of everything the week before thanksgiving & Easter.  Their wine guys are very helpful.  Of course for you +Amanda Blain we'll pull out our top shelf stuff so ping us when you are back in the Bay Area!  Cheers Y'all...

Baron de Lay, Finca Monasterio from Rioja has been a favorite of mine, although I'm not entirely sure it is below $20 - maybe if you're lucky :)

I am surrounded by approximately 200 wineries and vineyards in Temecula, CA...and yet I know next to nothing about wine...maybe I can learn something from this circle :)
Heather Giroux
this seems like a circle i could really learn something from and enjoy. recently i've become fond of gnarly head merlot. it's around $10-$12 a bottle, but tastes like so much more!

I'd post about the best wine bar in London (England), but +Amanda Blain has too many followers and the place is busy enough as it is.

Any Londoner should already know where I mean.

I love wine, and this year we had a surplus of Italian plums so I decided to make wine with it. It was incredibly easy, and yes, it tastes like MD 20/20. But I made it, man.

Oh well. My favourite ones? Amarone della valpolicella, Merlot, Shiraz, Cabernet sauvignon, refosco, ripasso, barbera superiore d'asti, gewurtztraminer, Muller thurgau, picolit. OK, I'll stop :D
Jochen Schlageter
My favourite wine currently is Carmenere for a red and a Sancerre or Puille-Fume for a white. Both are normally available in a wide price range, certainly starting below $ 20.

+Amanda Blain I was raised in Bordeaux :) And right now, I'm drinking a fabulous wine from Chile: Gato Negro (less than $10), Cheers!

Powder Keg Cab or Syrah. Such a great find at BevMo!! :-)

Right now, looking for a good excuse to open my 1998 V. Sattui Merlot.  Starting to think that "I don't have kids and will never have to share my wine collection with any" might be good enough.  (It may have been under $20 when I bought it.  Can't remember.)
Lacerant Plainer
Used to buy a lot of wine. Even had a Japanese sword which I used to slice open the corks (and the bottle necks) with :) Ah! those were the days!

Sevgilinin güzeli gül, içkinin güzeli şarap kokar… insanlıkla doğan ve onunla yaşayan, uğruna efsaneler düzülen, savaşlar tutulan, tarihin solgun yaprakları arasında bize güzellikleri ve özgürlükleri fısıldayan, kimi zaman kralların sofralarında, kimi zaman tanrıların kadehlerinde, hiç söylenmemiş mutluluk şarkıların bestekarıdır şarap.

We just started making our own after watching a PBS show on prohibition. It was too easy and actually turned out drinkable. lol We are going to experiment with more varieties. We'll be making a batch this week, ready in 2 weeks. 8)

Favorite under $20 is Ravenswood Zinfidel. Vintner's blend is under $10, and old vine is around $15.
Christopher Hooper
Arjona Rioja is succulent  rich and great value at £7.50. I guess that would be around $10-12 if available in the states.
