Lamborn Seeks Applicants for Summer Internship in Washington

Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)  today announced his office is accepting applications for the Summer 2012 Congressional Leadership Program. This unique paid associate program is open to college students and recent graduates who are from, or currently reside in Colorado’s 5th Congressional District.

Summer Associates will assist staff with constituent concerns, research and report on legislative issues facing Congress, and assist in press and constituent communications. Previous Associates of the Congressional Leadership Program helped launch the Sovereignty Caucus, attended Congressional briefings and legislative hearings, and gave tours of the U.S. Capitol Building.

Additionally, Summer Associates are given opportunities to take advantage of the many cultural and historical sites  inWashington D.C., including visits to the White House, Smithsonian museums, Supreme Court, the Pentagon, and national monuments.

“The goal of the program is to help our future leaders gain a greater knowledge and appreciation of our legislative process. The experience is unlike any other summer program on Capitol Hill.”– Congressman Doug Lamborn (CO-05)

The 2012 Congressional Leadership Program runs June 4th through July 27th. Associates must be able to commit to a full-time work schedule: 9 AM-6 PM when Congress is in session and 9 AM-5 PM while in recess.

For more information on the program and the application procedure, please visit Lamborn.house.gov. The deadline for applications is Friday, April 13, 2012.
