Rehberg Statement on U.S. Air Force Announcement of New MANG Mission

WASHINGTON, D.C. – Montana’s Congressman, Denny Rehberg, released the following statement in response to an Air Force announcement that the Montana Air National Guard (MANG), in Great Falls, will be the home for a new Target Production Intelligence Group, a unit employing over 200 personnel that reviews satellite data and other intelligence to develop targeting data for the military.

“This is a well-placed, well-earned mission.  The folks at MANG and Malmstrom Air Force Base continue to demonstrate their capability and dedication to serving America’s national security.  Not only does this advance that role, but it will also boost Montana’s economy. The Great Falls community and the entire state of Montana have long supported a strong national defense and have rallied together to continue in that role in the face of a changing military.  I’ve worked with our military and civilian leaders to ensure that the dedication and ability of Montana’s soldiers is recognized, utilized, and rewarded, and continues to be an integral part of our country’s national defense.”
