Rehberg Rejects President Obama's Job-Killing Tax Hikes, Urges Job-Promoting Tax Simplification

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Montana's Congressman, Denny Rehberg, today released the following statement in response to President Obama’s announced intention to raise taxes on American job creators.

“Over the past several years, I’ve spent a lot of time talking to small businesses around Montana about how the federal government can help them create the jobs we all need to get our economy back on track.  Just about all of them talk about the crippling effect of uncertainty.  Regulatory relief and tax simplification would let entrepreneurs focus on growing their businesses instead of jumping through burdensome, duplicative government hoops.  That means job creation.  I can’t remember a single small business owner telling me the way to create jobs was to raise taxes, and yet, that’s exactly what President Obama wants to do.  I emphatically reject this harmful plan.  Let’s work to get government on the side of small businesses and off their backs.”
