House GOP Continues to Dismantle Affordable Care Act Despite SCOTUS Ruling

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
CONTACT: Jamie Hanks | (202) 225-8490

WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today issued the following remarks after the House voted to repeal the president’s health care law:

“Last month when the Supreme Court deemed the Affordable Care Act constitutional, I made a promise that conservatives would continue the fight to dismantle this intrusive law. Today, I upheld that pledge as the House voted in favor of repealing this bad policy, which will cost our economy trillions, increase taxes on the American people, and make the government the third wheel of the patient-doctor relationship.

“To date, the House has taken over 30 floor votes to repeal, defund or dismantle the law, including my bill that sought to eliminate all of the funding—both discretionary and mandatory appropriations—which our country presently cannot afford.

“We must strike down the unsustainable and unworkable parts of this law, so that we can move forward with patient-centered, affordable and quality care solutions.”

U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, represents the 5th Congressional District and serves on the House Appropriations Committee.
