05/07/09
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Contact: Jamie Hanks
202/225-8490
WASHINGTON, D.C. – U.S. Rep. Rodney Alexander, R-Quitman, today announced that the U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT) will award $310,227 to the City of Rayville.
The grant is being disbursed by the DOT through the Federal Aviation Administration. It is intended to help the City of Rayville to install perimeter fencing which will minimize unauthorized access to the airport operations area.
“It is imperative that the federal government continues investing in infrastructure improvements, like the John H. Hooks Jr. Memorial Airport, because it has the potential to benefit our local economies,” said Alexander.
“I am grateful that the City of Rayville will have the necessary funds to make these improvements soon.”
