Congressman Austria released the following statement today regarding the announced changes to the management structure of the Air Force Materials Command:

“Because of our country’s fiscal situation, it is necessary to find efficiencies at all levels of government. As a member of the House Appropriations Committee, I continue to work closely with the Department of Defense to highlight how the assets we have at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base can help the Air Force achieve this goal. Today, the Air Force announced that Wright-Patterson will help lead these efficiencies by continuing to oversee all Air Force research and development at AFRL and standing up the new Life-Cycle Management Center which will be responsible for all acquisition functions throughout the Air Force.”
