City of Rialto to Rehabilitate and Repair Major Roadways

Asphalt Overlay

The City of Rialto will begin asphalt work on three major city roadways. City Council awarded a contract on April 14, 2009 to All American Asphalt Company to rehabilitate and repair the following roadways:

  • Ayala Drive, from Baseline Road to Riverside Avenue
  • Riverside Avenue, from Ayala Drive to Baseline Road
  • Baseline Road, from Riverside Avenue to Ayala Drive

These three roadways were used as a detour route during the construction of SR-210 freeway by SANBAG. A portion of Riverside Avenue is within the County of San Bernardino jurisdiction. Both the County and SANBAG have contributed funds to the City to undertake this roadway repair project. Additionally, the City will supplement the project funding using its own Measure I funds. more

Revenue Reduction Impacts City of Rialto

City of Rialto

As citizens are aware, current economic conditions continue to impact daily life and daily operations of local municipalities. One proposal to help balance a portion of the State's budget deficit suggests Sacramento should "borrow" property tax revenue from local governments. This would mean a combined revenue reduction of almost $1.6 million (8% reduction in property tax revenues) to the City of Rialto. This could result in a reduction of local services, including public safety, to our local population. For more information click here to access a staff report regarding Severe Financial Hardship that was approved by the City Council on May 26, 2009. Please take time to write to the City's State representatives and the Governor to express how this proposal would negatively impact the residents of Rialto.
