  1. Four years ago in October of 2008, nearly half a million Americans lost their jobs through no fault of their own. Today’s jobs report paints a completely different picture as more than 184,000 Americans were hired by private businesses last...
month. And in the last 32 consecutive months, 5.4 million new private sector jobs have been created. There’s more work to be done to grow our economy but we’re moving in the right direction and we can’t turn back now.

  5. California’s unemployment rate is at its lowest level since March of 2009. Our state is leading our country’s economic recovery by creating 262,000 jobs in the last year alone – that’s the second best record in job growth of any state in the union. We’re moving in the right direction but we have more work to do to create good paying jobs for middle class families.
  6. From losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month to now creating 5.2 million new private sector jobs in the last 31 consecutive months, our economy is undeniably better than it was 4 years ago. But there’s more that must be done to keep our country moving forward. Congress should be in session working to create jobs and grow our economy.
