Internships

Senator Snowe's internship program provides an excellent opportunity for students to learn and serve through first-hand participation in government service and the legislative process. The program is intended to provide knowledge, tools, skills, and experiences that an intern will readily apply to future challenges and professional pursuits. Senator Snowe expects a great deal from our interns. Candidates will have a diverse, challenging experience and make a genuine contribution to Senator Snowe's work on behalf of Maine and the nation.

Senator Snowe's interns assist staff in a wide range of areas including press, scheduling, correspondence, and legislative policy. While intern duties are largely administrative, candidates should expect to be given more and more responsibilities as they progress through their internship, depending on their individual interests.

Academic credit for an internship in one of Senator Snowe's offices is at the discretion of the intern's high school, college or university. However, Senator Snowe's staff will assist you in providing appropriate information as requested by your school. Arrangements for accreditation should be made before an intern begins the internship.
