CONGRESSMAN TOM REED RECEIVES AWARD FOR MANUFACTURING LEGISLATIVE EXCELLENCE

Congressman Tom Reed has received the National Association of Manufacturer’s (NAM) “Manufacturing Legislative Excellence” award. NAM, the nation’s largest manufacturing association, presented Reed with the award in Corning this week for supporting policies critical to the manufacturing industry in New York State and across the country.

“The success of our manufacturing industry will have a huge impact on the ability of upstate New York and our country to make an economic recovery,” said Reed. “We can bring more private-sector manufacturing jobs to our state with lower utility costs and that is a priority of ours – making sure our manufacturers can succeed in the global economy.”

According to the National Association of Manufacturers, members of Congress presented with the award have voted in support of manufacturing efforts at least 70 percent of the time. Congressman Reed is listed as voting to further manufacturing in New York State and the United States on 100 percent of the key votes identified by NAM. Key votes ranged from domestic energy production to reducing government regulations on small manufacturing businesses.
