  10. Had a powerful discussion about the importance of physical education and safety in youth sports with Las Cruces area students and parents, who shared first-hand experiences dealing with concussions and sports-related injuries. Our student athletes in New Mexico are among the best in the nation, and I am committed to making sure they are competing in the safest environments with the most reliable equipment possible.

  16. As the suns sets on a great visit to Northeastern New Mexico, I am reminded of how honored I am to represent these communities in the Senate. I heard from a lot of people, from Tucumcari to Mosquero and Clayton to Raton, about the challenges we face, and I look forward to going back to work to keep their economies alive and well.

  20. Pleasure to be back with the good people of Union County. Here in Clayton we met with Southwestern Electric Co-op officials who are utilizing USDA funds to implement smart grid technology in rural areas. Projects like this will help improve service and keep electric rates low for Southwestern customers.
