WASHINGTON, D.C. – House Majority Leader Eric Cantor (R-VA) today released the following statement after the House passed H.R. 674, a bipartisan House bill amended by the Senate to repeal the burdensome 3 percent withholding rule and encourage businesses to hire veterans.
“Today, the House sent a bipartisan jobs bill to the White House that contains measures supported by the President and the House Republicans’ Job Creators agenda. This common-sense bill removes the threat of unnecessary costs to allow small businesses, universities, and manufacturers to put their capital towards expanding and creating jobs. Additionally, it also includes Chairman Jeff Miller’s VOW Act to boost job opportunities for our nation’s nearly 900,000 unemployed veterans. The House continues to focus on areas of common ground that will spur job growth, and I urge the President to sign this measure into law and work with us on other bipartisan efforts where we can help more people get back to work.”
