Help with Federal Agencies
An important part of Senator Hagan's job is helping North Carolinians navigate the complex federal agency system. Her office may be able to assist if you are experiencing difficulties with a Federal Agency. This could include Social Security benefits, Veterans' Affairs issues, the IRS or immigration and visas.
Under the Privacy Act of 1974, individuals are required to complete and sign a Privacy Release Form before elected officials can provide assistance with their cases. Please print out the Privacy Release Form, complete it, sign it, and mail it to:
U.S. Senator Kay R. Hagan
Attention: Casework Request
701 Green Valley Rd
Suite 201
Greensboro, NC 27408
Please include a letter explaining the help you seek and any copies of relevant documents concerning your case.
Once Senator Hagan's office has received your information a staff member will be assigned to work with you. Please note that working through your case with federal agencies can take weeks or months and, unfortunately, does not guarantee a solution. Please also be aware that members of Congress cannot intervene with criminal or civil legal cases because of the separation of the legislative and judicial branches of government. Individuals with concerns regarding these issues should consider contacting the Justice Department.
If you have any questions or need immediate assistance please call the Greensboro office at (336) 333-5311 or toll free at (877) 852-9462.
You may also complete the following form and a Constituent Services Representative will contact you. In addition to this form, Senator Hagan's office will still need to obtain a signed Privacy Release form from you.
