Rangel: Steve Jobs Opened A Whole New World

Washington D.C. - Congressman Charles Rangel issued the following statement after the passing of technology legend Steve Jobs:

"It is a sad day in America and around the world as we lose one of the most prolific visionaries of all time. Steven P. Jobs built what was once a tiny hobby in his parents' home into the most valuable and innovative company in the world, Apple Inc. He was an inspiration to so many and truly a remarkable example of the American dream. His iPad has certainly opened up a whole new world for me at age 81.

I send my deepest condolences to Steve's wife, Laurene, and four children for their tragic and untimely loss. While we will miss Steve, we will always celebrate his life, legacy, and the ideas he ushered: thinking differently, challenging the status-quo, and living each day as if it were your last."
