Webster Hosts Service Academy Appointees


Winter Garden, Jun 11 - (Winter Garden FL) – U.S. Representative Daniel Webster (FL-08) issued the following statement after hosting a congratulatory briefing with the individuals selected to serve in the United States Service Academies:

“Each year I have the privilege of nominating accomplished young men and women to attend the United States Service Academies. These young people are the best of the best, and are eager to serve our nation. I’m pleased that this year, six young people from our community received appointments.

“The extremely competitive selection process is based on key areas involving leadership, academics and community involvement. From the talented group of individuals that were nominated, six were offered appointments to different academies. Three were appointed to the Air Force Academy, one to the Naval Academy, and two with the Military Academy at West Point.


“These young men and women have risen among their peers as the nation’s finest. They will have the distinct privilege to serve our country with determination and an unwavering commitment to protect our nation from our enemies.


“I offer sincere congratulations to the appointees, and their families and friends, who will continue to support them as they begin their mission to serve our great country,”
said Webster.

Rachael Brown - United States Naval Academy
Kennan Miller - United States Naval Academy



Joseph Campbell - United States Air Force Academy
Frank Montes De Oca - United States Air Force Academy
Dustin Santos - United States Military Academy (West Point)
Peter Suazo - United States Air Force Academy

Background:

Following an extremely rigorous academic, personal, and physical standards evaluation process, these outstanding individuals were selected from a national pool of candidates and are recognized for their outstanding leadership, commitment and courage. The nominees were interviewed by an expert panel of military and community leaders.
