Klobuchar, Franken, Cravaack Statement on Governor Dayton's Move to Appeal FEMA Decision on Individual Assistance in Wake of Flooding

Washington, D.C. – U.S. Senator Amy Klobuchar, Al Franken, and Representative Chip Cravaack released the following statement on Governor Mark Dayton’s move to appeal the Federal Emergency Management Administration’s (FEMA) decision to deny individual assistance for communities affected by the recent flooding in Northwest Minnesota:

“We support Governor Dayton’s action to appeal the decision to deny individual assistant and will be urging FEMA to swiftly consider this appeal. We will continue to work with federal, state and local officials to help families and businesses in northeast Minnesota recover."

Earlier this month, at the urging of members of the Minnesota delegation including Klobuchar, Franken and Cravaack, President Barack Obama approved federal assistance to help Minnesota communities repair public infrastructure damaged by recent flooding.
