Washington, D.C. – U.S. Representative Chip Cravaack (MN-08) has issued the following statement today in response to proposed debt plans:

“It is my understanding that Speaker Boehner and his staff have returned to the drawing board to revise proposed discretionary spending cuts and reforms to put the U.S. on the path towards long-term fiscal sustainability.  When there is a legislative draft in place, I will determine if the Speaker’s new plan is a sufficient, responsible path forward - relative to the core, fiscally conservative principles my constituents in the 8th District entrusted upon me last November.”

Congressman Cravaack serves on the Transportation and Infrastructure Committee – where he is Vice Chair of the Aviation Subcommittee – the Homeland Security Committee, and the Science, Space and Technology Committee. The 8th Congressional District covers 18 counties in Northeast Minnesota.
