  2. I had a great meeting with Gil Hernandez, Nevada’s National Legislative Chairperson for the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW). We discussed the issues affecting our veterans in Nevada. I’m pleased the VFW is supportive of my bill, the Vulnerable Veterans Housing Reform Act, which will help reduce homelessness among veterans. I’m looking forward to working with them to get this bill through the House.

  13. The US fell from #5 to #7 in global competitiveness. The "business community’s continued mistrust of the government and concerns over its fiscal health were some of the reasons for the downgrade, according to the annual survey."

    The House has passed 30 bills that would make the US more competitive by improving the business climate, creating a fairer, flatter tax code, and reducing energy costs.
