  2. Last Friday, I joined forces with Rep. Adam Schiff in my third Jobs Boot Camp in the San Gabriel Valley. We’re doing more than connecting employers with job seekers – we’re empowering those on the job hunt with the skills needed to land their next great job!

  4. GDP grew by 2% - better than expected! That’s more than three years of consistent economic growth under President Obama. We have more to do, but it’s another sign that our economy is heading in the right direction!

  5. Increasing STEM visas will allow more people with advanced degrees in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics to innovate here in the US and create JOBS. That’s why Congress must take action on a bipartisan bill to bring these bright minds to America ASAP: http://chu.house.gov/sites/chu.house.gov/files/documents/Letter1.pdf
  6. Huge victory for civil rights today! A federal appeals court in Manhattan struck down the Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) as unconstitutional for the second time. DOMA has stood between loving couples and the marital benefits they deserve for far too long, and it’s high time we do away with it. In America, we believe in equality for ALL, not equality for some. http://nyti.ms/RHU34g
  7. Forty years ago today, at a time when rivers were so contaminated that they actually caught fire, we enacted the Clean Water Act (CWA) to protect the health of all Americans. Four decades later, we can now combat untreated sewage, toxic discharges and contaminated runoff. We can’t let politicians roll back this law that saves American lives. 9. The Ryan Budget passed by the House GOP would raise drug costs for 5.5 million seniors by an average of more than $9,200 each! Here’s a detailed breakdown of how it will impact our community in the 32nd District: http://1.usa.gov/R3aJGg
  10. Mix It Up at Lunch Day is an anti-bullying effort that teaches our kids about tolerance and inclusion. Turning this day of unity into one of division, derision and hate robs students of the chance to break down barriers: http://nyti.ms/T31Ij7

  15. From losing hundreds of thousands of jobs a month to now creating 5.2 million new private sector jobs in the last 31 consecutive months, our economy is undeniably better than it was 4 years ago. But there’s more that must be done to keep our country moving forward. Congress should be in session working to create jobs and grow our economy.
