White House
Information on White House Tours
The Secret Service requires a minimum on 30 days in order to process the background check for everyone planning on visiting the White House.
*With the election of President Obama, there has been a resurgence in requests for White House tours amongst DC residents, so it is very important to place tour requests several months in advance in order to have a likely chance of securing a tour on your requested tour dates.*

US Capitol
Congresswoman Eleanor Holmes Norton encourages DC students to visit the US Capitol. The office of Congresswoman Norton will assist by arranging for students to meet with the Congresswoman, tour her Capitol Hill Office, tour the US Capitol, and watch US Senators and Representatives debate issues in a hearing or on the Senate or House floor. The US Capitol Visitors Center now entails Emancipation Hall, two orientation theaters, a 530 seat restaurant, two gift shops, ample restrooms, and a secure environment.
House and Senate Gallery passes are available for DC Residents in the Capitol Hill office of Congresswoman Norton and may be picked up during normal office hours from 9am-6pm, Monday through Friday.
