Arkansas Job Creators Praise Griffin’s Facebook Small Business Workshop As ‘Very Helpful’

Oct 19, 2012 Issues: Economy and Jobs

LITTLE ROCK – Congressman Tim Griffin (AR-02) issued the following statement at the conclusion of today’s Facebook small business workshop:

“I’m always looking for ways to help Arkansas’s job creators build their businesses and hire more employees,” Griffin said.  “Small businesses have created over 60 percent of America’s new jobs in the past 15 years, so that’s why I was excited to have Facebook specialists on hand to show more than 170 Arkansas small business owners and employees how to reach new customers online.”

Candice Murphy, whose husband runs Murphy Family Dentistry in Little Rock, praised today’s event.

“My husband is a great dentist; he’s not a social media mogul.  Today’s conference was very helpful.  There’s so much opportunity out there for small business.”

Gary Mailhiot with Industrial Revolutionaries – a manufacturer of fifth wheel accessories in Little Rock – agreed, saying social media is going to be “absolutely essential to promoting our business.”

More than 170 individuals registered for today’s event, where Facebook representatives taught them how to connect most effectively online and build a community around their companies’ pages.
