  4. Hurricane Sandy continues to hit the east coast with extreme force today. Rain, ice and snow are expected to continue hitting various cities in the northeast corner of our country throughout the day and perhaps the week, with thousands being without heat and electricity due to the severity of the storm. These conditions have become so severe that the Office of Personal Management has closed the US...
Capitol Building’s as well as various other federal buildings throughout the District of Columbia. As such, my Washington office has been closed yesterday and today, and depending on the storm’s affects, it may also be closed tomorrow. My Washington office’s phones have been transferred to our El Paso office to ensure that all of my constituents have the ability to get in touch with someone in my office. I ask you to please join me in praying for the safety of everyone who is currently experiencing Hurricane Sandy, for those with family members in Hurricane Sandy's path, and for a swift and calm end to this storm.

  6. This afternoon I was happy to join Bowie High School in celebrating the class of 1962, as this year marks their 50th Reunion! It was pleasure to meet each and every person who was present, and I was happy to honor our veterans with a flag that had been flown over the U.S. Capitol. I am honored to be your Representative, thank you for allowing me to participate in wonderful events like this!
