Mica Announces Federal Grant For Ride Solutions

WASHINGTON, DC -- U.S. Congressman John L. Mica (R-Putnam County) today announced that Putnam County’s transit agency, Ride Solutions, has been awarded its first-ever federal grant for the purchase of new buses.
“These federal dollars will assist Putnam County as it works to provide additional transit services to citizens who depend on public transportation,” Mica stated.
The U.S. Federal Transit Administration (FTA) is awarding $1,165,000 to Ride Solutions. The funds will provide for the purchase 5 to 10 new buses, as well as a new trolley for local service in Palatka. The FTA’s grant represents the first portion of the $2.7 million for Putnam County’s public transportation that Rep. Mica has secured through the Congressional appropriations process the past two years.
Mica continued, “With these new buses, we hope to assist citizens who need transportation services to get to and from work and around our community.”
