Ruppersberger to Appear on Fox 45 Morning News to Talk about Health Care

(Baltimore, MD)- Congressman C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (D-MD) will appear on Fox 45 Morning News in Baltimore at 7:15 a.m. on Monday, August 24, 2009, to talk about health care.  Several bills reforming America’s health care system are being discussed in the United States House and Senate.  The legislation is a work in progress and negotiations are underway.  The provisions of the bills are constantly changing.     

In the United States, there are an estimated 47 million Americans without health insurance; 800,000 live in Maryland.  On average, health insurance premiums have increased by 114% over the last ten years while workers earnings have only increased by 27%.  Under the status quo, middle class families pay a “hidden tax” of nearly $1,100 per year to provide care for the uninsured and underinsured.
