Who Represents Me provides information about current districts and members of the Texas Senate, Texas House of Representatives, the Texas delegation to the U.S. House of Representatives, and the State Board of Education.

New Members and Districts

New representatives do not take office until they are sworn in, usually at the first meeting of the body in which they serve following the general election. Until they take office, Who Represents Me will continue to list the current representatives.

When new districts are put into effect following redistricting, representatives for the new districts are elected in the next election cycle. During the transition to new representation, Who Represents Me will provide limited information about the new districts.

Matching Addresses to Districts

Who Represents Me may not in some cases be able to identify the specific district in which a given address is located. To identify the district for an address, Who Represents Me must contain information at one of these levels:

When you type an address, Who Represents Me uses a vendor-supplied program that attempts to match the address. If an exact match is made, the software will return a point (latitude and longitude) that is checked against district boundaries based on U.S. census geography. This information is returned in a web page, and if a particular district type is selected, a map is provided showing the address in relation to the district boundaries to help you verify that the returned address is correct.

If Who Represents Me is unable to match the address, it will attempt to show districts based on the city or ZIP Code provided rather than the address.

NOTICE: Who Represents Me has been found to be correct for the vast majority of the street addresses in Texas. However, in isolated instances, Who Represents Me has identified an incorrect district assignment. If absolute district accuracy is required, please contact the local county voter registration office for verification. The Secretary of State maintains a list of phone numbers at http://www.sos.state.tx.us/elections/voter/votregduties.shtml .
