2012 Special Municipal Election and General Election
The City of Albuquerque is placing two questions on the ballot in the November 6, 2012 General Election.
The issues on the ballot for the City of Albuquerque are:
- Paseo del Norte
- Minimum Wage Notice and Proposed Ordinance
Voting Information
Absentee Voting
Call 243-VOTE or print the ballot application and return it to the County Clerk as directed. The County Clerk will begin to mail ballots on October 9th.
Ballots are due to the County Clerk no later than November 6th at 7:00 p.m.
Absentee In-Person begins on October 9th at the County Clerk's Annex located at 620 Lomas NW
Early Voting
Early Voting begins on October 20th and runs through November 3rd.
Hours of Operation are Monday through Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.

Polls are open from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. on November 6th
Citizens may vote in the Voting Convenience Center of their choice.

The Office of the City Clerk serves the needs of the public by maintaining the official records of the City, by conducting City elections and by enacting all City legislation.
The City Clerk is the Chief Records Custodian for the City of Albuquerque and processes requests for public records pursuant to the New Mexico Inspection of Public Records Act. The office is also responsible for accepting all non-electronic bids from the general public in response to requests from the Departments of Municipal Development and Purchasing.
The Clerk and her staff are honored to assist citizens and fellow public servants in all aspects of the office.

NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING TO AMEND RULES OF THE POC
An Open Meeting will held on November 8, 2012, at 4:00 p.m. in the City Council Chambers located in the basement of City Hall, 1 Civic Plaza NW, to consider amending the Police Oversight’s Rules and Regulations by deleting Sections 3(H) and 3(I), Article II, of the Police Oversight Commission Rules and Regulations 2009. Sections 3(H) and 3(I).
Article II § 3 (2009) states:
3(H). Complaints in which the IRO and Chief of Police disagree or nonconcur
will be reviewed by the Long Term Planning Committee. Their recommendations will be
addressed by the Police Oversight Commission.
3(I). The IRO’s findings of police shootings will be reviewed by the LTPC and presented
to the POC at the next regular meeting.
Public comments on the proposed rule changes are welcomed and encouraged.
