Training Will Be Implemented Throughout U.S.
SPRINGFIELD – A $1 million grant recently awarded to the Illinois Emergency Management Agency (IEMA) will enable the state to develop a training program to help first responders, local governments and private sector partners throughout the U.S. better understand and deal with cyber incidents. IEMA’s proposal for the cyber training initiative was selected by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) to receive a 2012 National Training Program Continuing Training Grant.

National Effort Raises Awareness of Child Safety for X-Ray, CT Scans

SPRINGFIELD – The Illinois Terrorism Task Force (ITTF) announced today that 41 local emergency management agencies will receive a total of $416,852 to help them comply with federal communications requirements. The grants were recently awarded by the ITTF using federal homeland security funds the state receives from the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS).
