ONE-STOP SHOP - ZONING APPLICATIONS:
EFFECTIVE  SEPTEMBER 18, 2012, The City of Frederick will be accepting applications for Zoning Permits during the One-Stop Shop.  Please note that as with all applications submitted during the OSS, missing or incomplete information will result in the application being placed on hold.  It may also be necessary for Staff to place applications on hold that require additional review, research or analysis.

BUILDING CODE UPDATE:
EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2012, The 2012 Edition of of the I.B.C. (International Building Code), The 2012 Edition of the I.R.C. (International Residential Code), The 2012 Edition of the IECC (International Energy Conservation Code) and the Maryland Building Performance Standards will be applicable to permits applied for after June 30, 2012.  These codes will replace the previously enforced 2009 Editions.

RESIDENTIAL BUILDERS NOTE:  If your company currently has a production number for your house designs, be advised that you must apply for a new production number using plans that have been updated to the 2012 codes.


PLUMBING / UTILITY NOTICE
EFFECTIVE JANUARY 1, 2012, Maryland law House Bill 372 will require that all pipes, pipe fittings, plumbing fittings, or fixtures used in the installation or repair of plumbing intended to dispense water for human consumption must comply with the requirements for lead-free materials contained in the Annotated Code of Maryland, Business Occupations and Professions Article, Section 12-605.1 and 12-605.2.
Frederick City will apply this requirement to applications dated January 1, 2012 or after.
