The City of Lawndale operates two fixed-route bus routes serving key destinations in Lawndale. Use the route map and schedule table to determine the best route to use and most convenient travel times.

Hours of Operation

Monday - Friday 7am - 6:35pm
Saturday 8:40am - 5:55pm
Sunday 9:20am - 5:45pm
Lawndale Beat does not operate on New Year’s Day, Thanksgiving or Christmas. The following holidays will follow the Sunday schedule: Veteran’s Day, Fourth of July, Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, President’s Day,
Memorial Day, and Labor Day.

How to Ride the Lawndale Beat

Each Lawndale Beat vehicle displays a destination sign that identifies the vehicle’s route. Each bus stop is identified with an easy-to-read sign. Stops may be shared with other transit providers, such as MTA.

• Be at your stop at least 5 minutes early.
• Have your fare ready: cash, monthly pass or transfer. Drivers cannot make change.
• Take your seat upon entering and remain seated until the vehicle arrives at your stop.
• Please reserve the front seats for seniors and persons with disabilities. All Lawndale Beat vehicles are wheelchair accessible.
• As the vehicle approaches your destination, notify the driver that you wish to get off.
• Remain seated until the vehicle stops. After you exit, stand to the side of the road or on the sidewalk until the vehicle has pulled away. For your safety, do not cross in front of the vehicle.
  

Transfers and Passes

If your trip requires the use of more than one Lawndale Beat route, or a connection to a neighboring transit provider, ask your driver for a free transfer when paying your fare. Transfers are valid for up to 60 minutes on any Lawndale Beat neighboring transit provider except for the issuing route.
