Division of Economic Assistance

Office of Quality Assurance

The Office of Quality Assurance performs a state and federally-mandated function in evaluating the management of operation of the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP). This office is responsible for evaluating a sample of the caseload to determine the appropriateness of both active and negative eligibility decisions, i.e., case approvals and denial or closures.

The Office of Quality Assurance evaluates the accuracy of benefit levels determined for SNAP, reports the findings to applicable state and federal entities, and assists with corrective action.

The goal of this office is to be a continuous source of reliable performance information needed to assess and validate the integrity of state economic assistance programs and to be a viable resource - participating in state and local efforts to ensure that high standards of performance are met in determining program eligibility and the amount of benefits authorized.
