Mountain State Centers for Independent Living

Mountain State Centers for Independent Living (MTSTCIL) is a community-based organization providing advocacy, networking, and resources to people with disabilities and their families. MTSTCIL Seeking New Board Members

MTSTCIL is currently recruiting new board members, specifically members of the business community, who can bring their marketing, finance or human resource experience to the table.

We are currently seeking to combine the talents of our business community with the experience of our disability community to create broader awareness of our work while continuing to build community partnerships that create opportunities for both the people and businesses of West Virginia.

If you believe that you, or someone you know, would be a good candidate for the board, please contact Susan Weinberger, board chair at MTSTCIL. Read Susan's letter to the community or learn more about Susan, and the work of Mountain State Centers for Independent Living.

More About MTSTCIL

MTSTCIL staff provide peer support and offer guidance and encouragement to individuals in making appropriate decisions regarding their day-to-day lives. Visit peer support page.

Advocacy is the core of our organization. We believe that by focusing on advocacy and teaching people with disabilities self-advocacy skills, our vision and mission can be achieved. Visit the Advocacy in Action section.

By raising the community's level of awareness about disabilities, our centers have the unique distinction of being both a resource for individuals and an advocacy organization in the community.

If you are interested in learning more about how the services of a CIL might benefit you, please contact the West Virginia Center For Independent Living nearest you.
