    •  Secretary Ray LaHood writes, “Somewhere between Joliet and Normal, after decades of passenger trains on this route topping out at 79 mph, the Amtrak train I was riding hit a speed of 111. That's an impressive 39% faster than what passengers have experienced for years. As passengers begin to enjoy speeds of 110 mph, it’s proof that 21st century rail is indeed coming to America.”
