Bluefield Area Transit (B.A.T.) services Mercer and McDowell Counties with routes into Bluefield, Princeton, Athens and Welch. Buses operate with limited weekend service to the Athens area. The system is closed for all State holidays.

Passengers can catch the bus anywhere along the route by simply flagging it down. To ensure that you catch the bus, allow at least 5 minutes before the scheduled arrival time. Be sure to flag the bus down, or the driver will not realize you want a ride.

A deviated fixed service that extends up to ¾ mile in each direction of the main route is available for all passengers.

Our buses are clean and air-conditioned, and drivers are specially trained, friendly, safe and courteous.

Bluefield Area Transit, a division of the City of Bluefield, WV, connects with Bluefield VA's Graham Transit, as well as Four County Transit to better server the citizens of our community.
