Looking for the original program that appeals to your youth's team spirit and interests?  The Youth Sports Program offers the best of both worlds.  This program is geared toward developing the overall well-being of young people, particularly the mind and body.  The program provides opportunity for recreational pleasure, physical development, and good sportsmanship.  Team sports compete on Fort Bliss and in El Paso youth leagues.  Teams are formed based on the number of participants and the age of the youth. Sports, Fitness, AND HEALTH ACTIVITIES

Fort Bliss Child, Youth  & School Services goal is to emphasize fun and fundamentals of sports while de-emphasizing winning. Below you will find a rough outline of the programs we offer throughout the year. Some dates may vary. Coaches must be certified by NYSCA. Coaches who have children or youth participating in the sport they are coaching do not have to pay the participation fee for their first child/youth and all other children/youth are half price.   

CYSS MEMBERSHIPS & SPORT PHYSICALS
All youth must be a registered CYSS member and have a current physical ON FILE BEFORE they participate in any CYSS Sports. For more information on the CYSS Sports Program, please call 568-KIDS.

New CYSS fees effective October 1

As mandated by the Department of Defense Child Care Fee Policy, a new fee structure will be implemented by Fort Bliss Child, Youth and School Services effective Monday, October 1.     Hours of Operation:

    School Year

    Monday-Friday……… 3 p.m. to 7 p.m.

    Saturday……………. 1 p.m. to 8 p.m.

     

    ELIGIBILITY

    For children ages 3 through 18. Child participating in the program must be either a family member of active duty military personnel, retired military personnel, or DoD civilian employee. All youth must be a registered CYS member and have a current health assessment on file before they participate in any CYSS Sports.

    Interested in Volunteering as a Youth Sports Coach?

    Youth Sports is looking for volunteer coaches to help make our program a success. The first child of a volunteer coach plays for free and half price for each additional child. If you would like to give back to the youth what you received as a child, call the Teen Center at 568-KIDS.

    Triple Play

    A game plan for Mind, Body, and Soul is a dynamic new Boys & Girls Club initiative that demonstrates how eating right, keeping fit and forming positive relationships add up to a healthy lifestyle for Club members. You can teach youth how to understand nutrition and make better food choices. Healthy Habits is the “Mind” component of Triple Play, where eating smart and maintaining physical fitness are emphasized to improve the overall well-being of Club members.The Club is designed for age groups: 6 to 12 and 13 to 18 year olds.

     

    Start Smart

    What is the Start Smart Sports Development Program? Start Smart, a program of the National Alliance for Youth Sports, teaches children (ages 3-5) the basic motor skills necessary to play organized sports while they work one-on-one with a member of your staff. The program focuses on teaching children basic sports mechanics without the threat of competition or the fear of getting hurt. Start Smart sessions are held throughout the week, and each exercises become increasingly more difficult as the class progresses and the children show improvement.

     

    Sports Club

    Sports Clubs are teen leadership group in Boys & Girls Clubs that promote physical fitness, self-esteem, volunteer opportunities, and improved ability to interact positively with peers. Sports Clubs consist of both male and female ages 13 and older. Members meet on a regular basis to learn about issues related to sports, fitness, social recreation and nutrition.

     

     

     Learn to Ice Skate Program

    • A one hour learn to skate class

    • Class covers all the basics of skating, stride, edges, turning, crossovers etc

    • Class also shows skaters the proper way to pick the correct size of skate and how to properly put ice skates on
